Резюме: Историята се разправя за младо момче на име Савада Тсунайоши, който е загубеняк – съучениците му се подиграват; слаб е в учението; и момичето за което мечтае, дори не знае, че той съществува. Един ден Тсуна се прибира и разбира, че майка му е наела домашен възпитател. Но този възпитател не е обикновен – той е бебе мафиот на име Реборн.
Скоро се разбира, че Реборн е бил пратен от Тимотео, който е 9то поколение мафиот в италианската фамилия Вонгола, с цел да обучи Тсуна да стани 10то поколение бос на мафията. Реборн използва специално оръжие, което е се предава във фамилия Вонгола, известно като „Dying Will Bullet”. Когато човек е застрелян с този патрон, той „възкръсва” със силно чувство да изпълни предсмъртното си желание, което се базира на това за какво са съжалявали, когато са биле застреляни с този патрон, ако не съжаляват за нищо – умират :>. Докато Тсуна е трениран от Реборн, те (или по-точно само Реборн) започват да събират членове, които да станат част от мафиотската фамилия на Тсуна. Един от тях е Гокудера Хаято, който се прехвърлен ученик от Италия и идва в Япония за да провели дали Тсуна заслужава да стани 10то поколение бос. Друг е Ямамото Такеши, който е училищният бейзболен ас, който нищо не приема сериозно (освен спорта).
